I concur that on 2000 and newer models, they have consolidated both front and rear fluids to the front. One big reservoir that is now part of the radiator shroud. You will see both your front/rear washer pumps mounted as well as the low fluid sensor just to the side of the shroud. That reservoir can almost hold a full gallion of fluid.

I like the rear but hate the fact that you can't see how much is left.

The other thing is that it freezes no matter what.

I browsed forum for info about water leak into this cargo compartment, sorry for bumping an old thread. I have the same problem, the compartment gets wet in autumn and winter time. I couldn't figure out how to loosen the reservoir filler neck. Should I slide it left/right/up/down or just pull it out? Or do I have to remove the inner panel for access?

Thanks for sharing your problems and solutions, a great tip about the washer reservoir!

Anyone know how to detach the filler neck without damaging it?

the filler neck for the reservoir is likely part of the tank, as in it cannot be removed w/o removing the whole tank (or cutting the neck off), that type of part is usually molded for easier production and better resistance to leaking (no joints = no leaks)

Remove the cargo right side liner and you get access to the tank connection and the tubing going up to the hatch. It is connected with a plastic ty strap. Cut it and remove the tank.
