Default Passenger Side Mirror

So my wife, which drives the truck on a regular basis, hit a mail box yesterdy (While textin she says) and hit the mirror. Ironically enough the only thing that came off was the actual mirror. It looks like the actual mirror is glued onto the motorized part? Is this correct..

Also, could I buy just the mirror?

PS, yes i searched first..

Thanks

First thing make sure she does not text and drive, tell her you will take that thing away from her if she does it again.. I hope she knows that she possibly could of died and or worse killed some innocent children if she lost control and or hit another car.

Okay the mirror, 3 ways
1. replace it, well you can visit most auto glass shops and have them cut you a replacement and glue it in... Yes they can do this because I worked in auto glass for awhile. You may find some trying to tell you they can't and just know that is a load of bull because they can, just move onto one that says yes.

2. Buy a new one.
Here is a place that sells cheap replacements

The only issue here is if your other mirror is sun faded this will be nice and new looking compared to the other mirror.

3rd Junk yard
This will solve the issue of the fade look difference. But they will charge you the price you can get a new one for.

Thanks SCH, I think I am going with #2 or #3 since I want to make sure the paint has matching sun damage

Ya I should mention that if you go with option 1 and you have heated mirrors that option will no longer work. All they can do is glue a mirror in that does not have the heating element.
