Angry 2000 Dodge Durango manifold

Looking for some advice on an exhaust manifold that has a broken bolt nearest the firewall. Will the engine (4.8 liter) need to be pulled or can it be swapped with the motor intact ?
Any help would be appreciated !
Thanks in advance

Mike

Default Dodge Durango manifold issue

Sorry, this should have stated that the engine is a 4.7 liter.
Just a little sleepy this morning (LOL)

Engine does not have to be removed. Just when you do get the manifold off/bolt out make sure to use a new gasket. Also might be a good idea to get some pretty grade 8 bolts..

**Edit, also soak any other bolts (y pipe etc) that are necessary to removal a night ahead of time for easier extraction.

I think # 5 bolts should be good. Grade 8 are too hard ....IMHO.... to handle the vibrations.

I agree with Hydra=8 are a bad idea due to vibration and also heating and cooling of them weaks them faster, plus extracting a brokin one if it breaks again, is harder on the drillbits etc..
here's a link that will tell ya all the chit about nuts& bolts ya wanted to know but were afraid to ask -it also has a nice conversion table etc.

Just did the left one this weekend that had the closest one to the firewall broke. Mine was flush with the head so I had to drill it out. Not a fun job.
