Default Yea...My D has a new E

My 99 D 5.9 crapped out on me last week took it to the shop... The shop and I looked for another 5.9. We found a 70K mile 5.9 from a 02 pick up so....it went in and my D is on the road again I have only had it for a short while and because of your guys on the forum i have fixed the ABS/brake light problem & I thank you . My cruise control tends to run a bit high when I turn it on at first would the Trans Speed Sensor cause this? I already replaced the ABS sensor on the rear axle then I fixed the ABS/brake light. I am so glad i found this forum...i did not pay much for the D and now even with a engine replacement i still am sitting pretty good on the money in the D . Heck the shop even fixed my AC unit for free, it was not working when I got it. So my ? would the speed sensor cause the cruise to run high? Thanks T
I will be getting new wheels shortly so pics soon

If the cruise overshoots your intended speed initially, there could be too much slack in the cable from the TB to the cruise diaphram.

If adjusting your cable not work, it is the tps sensor. Most users have this little surging problem when on cruise control or they may have random rpm surging when idling. The TPS sensor is the culprit. TPS will malfunction and not even throw a code. I had my truck in/out of the dealership for over a month trying to lock down on this problem. After I joined this forum and people were discussing possible TPS, I asked the dealer to replace the tps even tho the computer does not say it is faulty. Voila, problem went awy.

Teck, what part of WA? I am from Oly... But by the sounds of you getting new wheels and tires, ya probably don't want to go off roading! Also, can you take the TPS off of the old motor?
