Default help hard starts

i have a 2003 dodge durango sxt 4x4 with the 5.9 liter engine.when it rains or there is moisture in the air the truck has hard starts.i have to hold the gas pedal down for a few minutes, till the engine gets up to temp.then the idle will hold and i can drive away.other wise it just shuts off.what can this be?

Most likely a battery connection or a crank shaft sensor on a 4.7L

Please advise us on the motor we are working on?

No ignition = no power.

My suggestion is to get a new BRASS cap and rotor from NAPA. Ask for Echlin. Get new plug wires (8MM in size at least) of any brand you like. Get new plugs and a new coil. It will set you back $200 if you do it yourself (fairly easy) and takes about an hour.

Low idle stumble at start up is nearly always a bad battery... believe it or not.

Still could be the tune up issue like Indy is saying. Tune that thing up and route the wires so they are off the motor and eachother as much as possible. I would recommend OEM wires tho.
