The physics are all nice and good...

...however that switch still melts down on 98s and 99s primarily. Get a spare. You will need it.

And just to let you know, if you do replace the switch, it doesn't have to be out of a Durango... Rams will work too... I got mine out of a 2001 Ram and it has an extra setting on the dimmer for the cab lights... Thinking of hooking that up to something, but I dunno what, since the dome light will have to be on at the same time... Hmmm....
