Looks like dealer plug in only.

jimbo74 05-25-2009 02:29 AM

what does dealer plug in only mean?

you provided a link on the previous page, and i think section 5 was listed in the bookmark tabs, but when you click it, goes to a dead link

ok, got the iac and the tps off, going to clean the iac with carb cleaner, what needs cleaning, what is supposed to move? seems like it has a plunger type thing on it, that appears to move freely.... there was some oil residue, but no blocked ports or anything like that..... im going to clean the tb as best i can also, and make sure to clock the tps... the butterfly seems to open smoothly and snap shut

How to clean the IAC

how do i clean the IAC, it is one part of many in trying to diagnose a p0068 we have that wont go away despite having replaced several things....

hydrashocker 05-25-2009 03:52 PM

Don't touch the IAC plunger just spray it off real good. Pull the TB off by disconecting the linkage and map sensor, and TPS and spray that thing out really good. Use the tube to spray out all ports on the TB. Clean out what you can with brake cleaner or carb cleaner/fuel injector cleaner is an aerosol can.........EASY

Even a little carbon can mess things up.

Remember to reset the PCM.

No offence, but origanally when we told you to clean the TB you told uys you already did but you don't know how to properly do it???????

+1

I wasn't even about to go there. I thought he had everything replaced once if not multiple times based on other posts. With that technical knowledge now we need to teach about a little cleaner and a toothbrush? Hummm.
