Default Noise coming from truck in 4-lo

Was at the beach fishing last night and I put the truck into 4-lo and it sounds like I'm getting this rubbing noise from the driver's side of the truck. The diffs are locking up because I'm still getting traction, I just don't know what this noise is, any ideas? It's never done this before either.

It's a 2001 with a 4.7, the noise happens only in 4-lo, intermitenly in 4-hi. When I'm just driving in 2wd it's fine.

Could be a worn chain.

Not sand, I always wash the undercarriage down after I'm done out there. Plus this started just as I was going onto the beach so there couldn't have been any sand.

Checked the fluid the other day, it was fine. Actually changed the fluid about 10k ago.

Could just have been the torque on the diff trying to figure which wheel to go in the open gearing.
