Default Amp question

In my truck i have an Alpine HU and an aftermarket Infinity speaker setup. I will eventually install 2 12inch subs and whatnot, but first I would like to buy an amp for the speakers. My plan is to get a 4 channel amp an run the speakers through it until i get the subs. When i do get the subs i will run them through the amp as well. So, here is my question: What is a good amp for that type of installation? I am an amp virgin and any help is greatly appreciated.

Neither, i'd suggests 1 4channel amp for the door speakers, and 1 amp specific to your sub installation... Keep em separate.. Keep em specific...

Door speakers and subwoofers require different settings. The tuning required would be limited not to mention you would have to run in mono to run both. The amount of watts needed to run door speakers is 20x less then the subwoofers require. Why starve your subs and overwork/overheat your amp? Ya need more powa scotty..

What you want is one four channel amp to control your door speakers only
At the correct Ohms and Umph (usually 100wtts a speaker)
And one to run your sub's.

** yes there are 4 channel amps that can do both, but expensive and IMHO a waste...
** Also if the amp is limited to frequency youd be making your subwoofers just large speakers, a no-no.
