oil pump when i bought it. now withing the last three months if
i let the rpms go over 2500 then the oil pump cuts off completely.
however, if i dont let the rpms get that high i can drive wherever i
friggin want to, interstate too. it's soo weird im totally baffled. HELP!!!

It's smeems like a bad spring on the relief valve. New Pump is needed or it could be the screen is plugged. Question is, how did you replace the pump in the first place?..... What did you do?

Default re oil pump problems

well. hehe. I do love workin on my cars but since its 4x4 I couldnt
do the oil pump myself. so after i bought the truck i had a shop where
i lived replace it. then about six months ago it started actin up again.
so i took it to another shop and they had to replace the pressure
switch to turn the pump on. so now im just baffled. ive been drivind
it like this for about a month now and as long as i dont bring it above
2200 rpms it does fine. pain in the but in traffic tho, tryin to baby it.
I have no idea!?!?!?

Default possible?????

does anybody think it's possible for me to change the oil pump
myself? I'm pretty good with a wrench, but i dont have an auto
lift and I heard getting the 4x4 system outta the way is the
worst part. anyone had experience in this so far? Thanx

There is no switch that turns the pump on. It's mechanical and you don't have a choice............ That mechanic bent you over my friend!

To change out the pump you need to lift the motor or drop the front end to get to it.
