Default ABS and Brake light on...

No one locally will scan codes without payment... It's a 1999 so I cannot do a key dance and is rear ABS only... It will come and go every other time I start the vehicle... Any ideas?

There seems to be one on each side of town.

the abs and brake light is on, probably one of the speed sensor, most often the one located on the rear axle, it controls the rear wheel abs and the speedometer, so if your speedometer stops responding until you reach a certain speed(i the speed is 15-20 mph)

I tried Autozone... They do not scan anything but PCMs.... Tried two of em, just in case and one of those a good buddy of mine is a manager... No dice...

And my speedo is dead on but I will go ahead and change the sensor anyways...

You asked about scanning codes AND mentioned the keyon/keyoff method. So... that's what I replied to.

Since that now isn't what you want, I must not know what you are looking for.

+1 on checking the sensor on the rear axle.

LOL! I didn't ask... I said "no one would" scan and "cannot" do the key dance...

I want to know how to get the code since no one will scan and I can't do the key dance...

a post about codes and then stating, "any ideas" is generally accepted as asking in forums BTW.

Maybe there is no code because if there was, it would be scannable. Other codes require a dealer visit.

I give up. /unsubscribe. I can't help you. Sorry.

Chill......

ABS is dealer only for scans. First replace the speed sensor on the top of the rear axel. It also talks to the ABS. This is the usual culporate.
