Default vent problems.

98 Durango. vent is stuck on defrost. will not change off it no matter what.

line that runs across the back of the engine bay behind the dist. stretches from brake booster to cruise control module. if you look at the arrow. that little line is broke about 10" down and according to my service manual i downloaded it goes to the ac/heater controls. but i cant find where it goes through the firewall to fix it, im fairly certain this is the source of my problems.

The little black tube you are pointing to it the vacuum line that controls the blend door and that is your problem. You need to replace the broken spot. You might be able to take a slightly larger tube and some WD-40 spray the line and slip it down over the broken spot or replace it. The problem is it goes under the dash behind the heater controler in the dash and is a PITA to get to.

By the way thats not an arrow but a pen......LOL

It's an arrow. The pix is lifted from the DOC and the original poster said he used an aluminum arrow. It took me 2 days to see the damn thing!
