Default Nasty Plugs

Changed my plugs for the 1st time since Ive owned it (got it 3 years ago) Took the old plugs out, They were friggin Champions! I got OE Autolites to replace them. The old plugs were VERY Brown, but dry... So thats good. The white part you could rub with your finger and it came off like chalk. Glad I changed em when I did!

FYI... the most common replacement 4.7l Magnum plugs are usually stocker Champions or NGKs at the standard stock temp. You mentioned using Autolites. Most Autolite users are switching to 3923s which are one range cooler and then only on the 5.2L/5.9L Magnums.

I know thats been said on here, but Ive heard differently from people I know with Durangos and other Dodge vehicles. They said the Autolites worked fine for them. Not to mention its hard to find either of the plugs mentioned on this board that are "recommended" for the 4.7. The ones I got were actually listed as OEM also.

They are NOT OEM! Champion Regular Copper is OEM!

They ment OEM replacement not OEM.

If you are going to push this hard so be it, just be forewarned.

^ LOL ^ Guess I've made a name I gotta hold.

Well when they built the motor to run off em from the factory, don't ya think you might want to run em? Then again, IDK why the facotry would spend a something like billion dollars or so in R&R on the 5.2L/5.9L/5.7Lto have backyard mechanics tell em the plugs don't work.

But then again, each to their own.

Remember they spent the $$$ to make sure they met the EPA requirements and CAFE standards. Not necessarily what was best for performance that still works. That is two different things. Hotter plugs are required for fuel setups, etc meeting the above mentioned EPA/CAFE stuffs.

With that said, Durango03 was sold a bill of goods if anyone told him and then sold him Autolites for a 4.7l.
