Thanks jodymae! Nice to see you back again.

As a back up to the FACTS of what schusterjo stated.....

Now it's better to go with K&N because they are oiled and therefore any moisture that gets into the intake from the front hit the filter drip off and land into the bottom of the OEM air box. The box has holes in it to allow discharge of the moisture from the box. Now it you had a regular paper filter then yes it would get plugged up and deteriorate but not a K&N. This is why we use K&N filters.

Now I dirve in HARD rain/ HARD snow and every situation you can think of and haven't had an issue yet. Could it happen? Yes..... Thats why I carry a spare filter/tools/fan belt/chains/ on and on. If it ever happend I would just pull the intake tube out.

Here is a picture of mine.

Looking at the setup it appears that I need to touch everything up. But since it's been installed for about 4 years and lookin like crap.

Now in the 1998 and 1999 5.2L and 5.9L you can just turn the intake tube 180 degrees like I did and cut a hole.

Same flat filter design, just ""needs to be a K&N filter"" and ""not a paper filter such as Fram""

To put pics up goto here and create an account...
http://photobucket.com/

Upload pics to your account and then once finished simply copy the line with the [img] tag and paste it here.

Or you could use other file hosting sites that do the same thing that do not need to sign up for. Photobucket keeps ur pic as long as u keep the account. the others will disappear after awhile.

2 questions?

1. how does it feel? pic up better at higher speed now?
2.what old dad have to say about it?
