Chuck Norris was right...
LOL.
I think you changed them a little to early. You had at least 1 or 2 more trips around the block in those pads.

I run Carbon Kelvar pads up front (same as shoes in rear.) Knocking on wood... they are looking good at 2.5 years now. All others I had were swapped out every 18 months or so. All in all, you get what you pay for I guess.
What are your replacements there?

I might have gottne Carlisle with them but I really did not want to chance it. Knowing my luck if I did, they would shed during the trip or put me stuck there. No major deal, just to get going I put the sheapest set I could find, Duralast semi metallic. The biggest thing was trying to save the rotors and I know that if the pads dig into the rivets then the rotors are not very far behind. With that said, rears are done, new pads on, hopefully I got some time before the rear rotors have to be replaced. When some more $$$ comes along the front pads and rotors are next. I guess I cant complain too much, the rear pads were installed in FEB07 so almost 2.5 years and almost 40K miles. Maybe at Carlisle we can talk about the carbon/kevlar pads, they sound interesting.
DIY for brakes... Cmon now what has this world come to..
-jack vehicle up
-remove all 6 lugnuts (5 if you broke one and never replaced-or stolen)
-Lick the caliper
-Break out the trusty dusty 7mm hex socket
-loosen caliper bolts in the correct direction ( up and down usually does the trick)
-Pull the outside pad
-Press in the piston and watch brake fluid pour from your MC all over your headers/brakelines/steering
-remove old back pad, replace with new
-lick the caliper again
-put on caliper and tighten bolts to rec. torque
-put wheel on
-lick the lugnut
-put 6 nuts on and torq accordingly (5 if your handicapped)
-Lick the bugs off the hood
-move to the other side......
Some of us dont have the time to stand on the corner showing leg to make the big bucks.. Buy me some tires and wheels, then maybe i can swap

Indy, yeah i think i got 3+ yrs on those, cant remember what they were but im sure i didnt go cheapy on em. The replacements are only meant to last till i can swap so i went cheap and got the silver wearver or whatever lifetimes for $30. Id rather not try to accumulate a bill in a front end that will be trashed within a year.
