Question Oil Leak

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and I was wondering if I could ask for your help and opinion on something. It appears that oil is leaking out of the passenger side exhaust manifold and it is burning off on the pipes as they get hot. I was wondering if this is just caused by a leaky gasket or if it is something more...I did not know that oil got near the exhaust manifold. So if you could pass along some ideas of what it may be or some advice, that would be great. Thanks. O, and by the way, I have a 2000 Durango 5.9L.

knowing where the oilis comming fromis going to be our first task-
the first suspects are the valve cover gasket.. lets look there first

lets clean things to help localize the source, be sure oil is full and then after operating check the valve cover to head area,

often it at the rear of the cover where they leak,

Thanks kev2. After reading that, I went to look at my car some more and it does appear to be leaking from the valve cover in the rear. It is very damp right in the rear of it and I guess it was just running down onto the exhaust manifold and pipes.

OEM is rubber gaskets so try a gental thighten up on the bolts or replace them with rubber ones.
