I connected the chip to the air temp sensor, as required by the manuf.

Today I made an ram air out of the OEM air scoop that connects to the side panel. I inverted the scoop and cut the section with a roto zip. The section that faces front of the car looks like a shovle. I'll post pics later this weekend.

No offense, but due to your serious lack of mechanical knowledge, I would take the crap resistor and spacer off and don't touch your engine again...

Dude!!! no offence taken but it is my car. I'm sure everyone here messed up a little the first couple of times they started playing around with a car. It's just taken me a bit longer than most people. And by the way, it's a spear, I would't dear touch the BMW. :-)

Regarding prior PMS post, whow, what was I thinking!! My wife must have walked in on me while I was writing...

I'm going to leave the chip in for another week and remove it then. I'll let you all know who it goes or if anything broke. Thanks for the the positive info and help.

you might wanna do a once over on trucks general shape. When was the last time the differentials were serviced?? Engine oil?? coolant?? tranny fluid?? If everything checks out they got a nice injector cleaner system that a few shops can run.. instead of dumping junk in your tank(that barely helps) they attach this can into your fuel rail and the truck will run off that for 30 minutes or so. I did that in my high school shop like 8 years ago and it helped out a ton and lasted quite a while.. Haven't found a shop that will do it for cheap tho..

None of that crap is going to get you huge HP & TQ gains. One thing that's killing your 'hole shot' in trying to turn a good time through the 1/4 mile is those 33" tires. It takes a lot more to turn those than stock. If you want to run the 1/4 mile change them out for the stock 15" rims and oem tires. You'll see a much different time & speed. Also as it was mentioned, rear end gears!!!

UPDATE!!
I'm going to take alot of heat for this but here we go! On my last post I had removed the spacer and built the ram air. I did keep the chip.
I've driven the D the last 2 days the same I do all the time, some city some hwy miles.
My MPGs have gone up to over 13mpg with this set up. Now, I haven't seen 13mpg on my D since before I lifted and put in 33's. I've been getting 9.5 or sometimes 10.5 on long hwy trips.

Sorry guys but I'm a happy camper right now. I know you all told me, having the chip on there is bad. The computer will relearn and adapt. I'm going to fry my main computer (or as I call it PMS).

Besides the better gas, I have also noticed better shifting and a little better throtle responce.

For now, I'll leave the chip in.

Ok now, Pour in on!!

If you find someone that wants your throtle body spacer ket me know as I have oe for a 2007 Durango that I never installed. Hydrashocker was correct - an expensive paperweight it is sittting in my garage. You could put exhaust headers and a cat-back along with a CAI which may improve your MPG marginally, but all that combined will cost around $1500.00 or more,

Playing with the 99s PCM is playing with fire. Keep the $$ you are saving on the milage, you'll need it to pay for a new PCM.

My guess is that you got good gas, better conditions, etc all accounting for your improved mileage and that the chip is useless. Within 100 starts, the PCM will relearn and render it null.
