Bought 99 D 1100 miles ago, Ball Joints Fail Inspection today
I'm just curious of what others think of this situation. I bought a 1999 Durango at the end of December 04. I tried to get it inspected today and it failed. All 4 ball joints are bad. Now I didn't take it to the dealership where I bought it for the inspection so I didn't get to talk to anyone at the dealership today. Isn't a crappy business practice that just 1100 miles ago when I bought the Durango the dealership didn't replace the ball joints which would have failed inspection at that time? I think it's bad all together that they dealership wouldn't inspect the vehicle before selling it. I'm thinking they knew it would fail and didn't want to put more money into it. It disgusts me that I will have to shell out $600 now after I paid retail (used) price for the vehicle when I thought the truck was ready to go with no problems. I have a 3 month or 3,000 mile warranty which runs out on the 30 so when I take it to the Dealership on Monday the 28th I am still under warranty, but I have a feeling I am going to get screwed over. The salesman said bumper to bumper warranty, but I don't have that in writing. It seems in writing it's only a driveline warranty. Unbelieveable how people in this world will say anything just to make money. I'm a salesman for a living and I never lie to my customers. I treat them as I would want to be treated. I actually am there being honest for the customer and not for the company. whatever, I'm just disgusted right now.
