Thanks, I have to disagree on the functionality part. I love not having to pop my hood latch, just pull the pins and bam! But we all have our opinions.

Did you drill holes in the crossmember or use some there already?

Difficult accounting for the angle difference from the open hood to the closed hood in reference to where the hood hole went?

Yes, I drilled holes in the crossmember 1/2 drill bit. When you put them in, drop them to there lowest setting on the threads on the pins. Then put a little bit of grease on the top of the pins, and close the hood to mark the spot, then drill through the hood. Like I said it was a pain in the a**, took a lot of measurements. There was not much angle difference, but that was what I was thinking when I first looked at them before I put them in. It was so totally worth it!

Nice job using the grease to mark our spot for the drill out on the hood from the underside! Basically, you marked the drill holes by putting grease on the end of the bolts and shutting the hood to the point that the grease (from the bolts) touches the underside of the hood marking the spot on which you should drill through the hood.

Glad to see the finished product!
