Default 2000 5.9 trans glitch

I have a 2000 Durango, 5,9 . With the shifter in D, and at a complete stop, if you take off slowly, just creeping, and pull the shifter into first, it acts like you released a brake.
Have had lots of RHs but this is my first RE.
I assume this to be abnormal, if so, any suggestions.
I changed the fluid and filter, adj the bands before I noticed the issue.

Why are you pulling the shifter into 1st instead of leaving it in drive?

If the problems started after your DIY trans service, your culprit is most likely right there.
