2000 Dodge durango Trailer wiring running lights problem
Alrighty, this is a slight emergency post. I'm leaving out on a 600 mile moving exodus in a few hours, and I need to get this solved ASAP :\
I have a "I guess factory" wiring installation it's a cylindrical 6 post plug that goes into the back of my truck, that I have reduced down to a 4 wire flat for my trailer.
The brake lights work fine, turn signals work fine, but I have NO Running lights. (the lights that come on when I turn on the headlights). I haven't been able to nail this problem down. I've checked all the wiring on the trailer, it's all solid. I've searched for a different connector to plug into my truck, but this is the only one that fits.
Is there some external ground that I need to hook up?
I know this is rather vague information, but is there maybe a fuse that controls the running lights for the trailer? I'll keep checking this thread every half hour :|
thanks guys, you rawk.

yeah, got the move completed, and I located the problem. Apparently, the previous owner of my truck didn't wire the connector right, and there was NO power getting to the trailer. I quick-spliced in the hot wire, and got instant running lights
I'll have to get my Digicam out and take some snaps of what the heck this guy did to the receptacle. because there is a white wire that had a female connector crimped on it, that is zip-tied to the harness the entire way up into the truck. It was hot, because when I touched it to a ground, it blew the fuse that controls my truck's parking lights!! I'm just glad we got the trip done, can't WAIT for winter so I can wheel in my Durango in the snow.
Thanks for the help Hydra, you da man.
