Default K&N/ Ebay CAI

I bought the cheapo Ebay CAI after doing my research on this forum. Do you think it would be worth the extra $35ish to replace the junk filter that came with it and put quality K&N filter?

I'll do ya one better, instead of the K&N and oiling sched, try finding a dry filter element of the same quality )

Here comes another dumb question from Sitt: Why get a dry filter as opposed to an oiled K&N?

A dry filter you may have to wash in a soapy solution once every 30,000 miles , atthough I do mine every 10,000 miles. A oiled filter needs charged about the same but since it is oiled it will collect much more debris and then restrict the airflow,

Correct,

The dry filters don't catch as much as the oiled do so the finer sediments go directly into the engine causing failure. For this reason I like oiled filters over dry any day of the week.

Yeah that used to be the problem but the new AEM as Fas mentioned above actually has better filtration than oiled K&Ns. The NEW AEM's not the old type or knock offs..
