Arrow Truck problems

Hey everyone, i hate posting threads, because theres always a problem when i do..

this just started today, i floor the rango more then i probably should, but it started making a squeeking noise, or kinda like a turbo when i floor and when i let off the gas, sounds like its coming from brakes..Any thoughts?

the other thing is when i turn this annoying sound also comes from the wheels, any help would be much appreciated...

Welcome to DF
There could be a few things going on, 5.9L, Water pump, fan clutch, fan belt, front wheel bearings or brake pads. You're need to raise and isolate the noise.

he never said which engine he had

and thats actually some good information to get too while we are here, gives us a better idea of what you have to look at so how about engine size (for 98 5.2 or 5.9 are basically the same) drivetrain (4x4, 4x2??) how long ago was your last tune up, how worn are your tires, when did you do the breaks last, are they wearing evenly, check ball joints are they still tight (grab tire at top and bottom while truck is in the air and see if it moves, if not you are fine if so might be time to replace them) if i think of anything else i will add it in

If the truck is a 1998, there only two engines. 5.9 or 5.2L. and durango only came with 4x4 transmission. (46re) with means it has a 5.9L engine. 4x2 transmission came later in 1999. That was 5.2 and 5.9, transmission then was a 42re or 44re on 5.2 engine and 5.9L came with a 46re trans.

Actually to correct, there are 3 engines not 2.

5.2L, 5.9L, and 3.9L.

Transmissions are as follows:

42/44RE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
46RE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Transfer cases:

NV231 TRANSFER CASE
NV242 TRANSFER CASE

Anyway to answer your question, it could be the transfer case chain.
