Default Rancho lift with stock rims

I just received my Rancho 3" suspension lift. I want to install it but they say you can't use the 15" stock rims with this lift. I still have 25,000 to 30,000 miles on good tires and don't want to spend another $1000 for rims and tires right now. So, has anyone had luck with using their stock rims on the Rancho lift? Any thoughts? Thanks!

My concern is this: Rancho web site states, "This system does not allow the reuse of OE factory 15" wheels". Is it because they used different wheels on the prototype vech. or is there a back space issue using the factor wheels. I don't want to spend a weekend installing the lift kit then have it stuck in the garage with no wheels to put on it. Anyone know the answer?

Looking over the instructions i see the issue.. Instead of dropping the upper control arm they only drop the lower, they use a larger drop on the knuckle so it sticks up more... For reference of what im saying look at illustration 17 @ http://www.gorancho.com/install/inst...dge/88061b.pdf

Notice the upper control arm/balljoint still in the factory position with the new extension knuckle coming up ( For others, the knuckle is what the hub connects to, also what the balljoints/a-arms connect to)
So i say yeah if thats the case, you need 16" or larger..
