Default should i buy this durango?

im looking at a durango this afternoon for the winter. I drive a ss camaro ls1 and im from ct so I need 4x4 before winter. Its a 2000 durango not sure of the bells and whistels yet. But the thing that had me asking this question is because its got 180000 miles on it. Are these engines any good and how long do they last? Oh and i guess its got a new transmission and the guys got paperwork to show that. He wants 2500 for it what do you think?

180,000 miles is no where near the end of the life for these engines assuming they are taken care of properly, but some things to check out on it listed at the top, the biggest one is check the balljoints, ask for maintnace records, the normal stuff you look at when buying a used car/truck

check and see if they have already been replaced, and if possible put the front of the truck up on jacks and grab the wheel at 12/6 and 3/9 if it wiggles 12/6 its time for new balljoints, if its 3/9 then new wheel hub bearings

Take it over to a local shop and have them do a 128 point inspection on it. This will show issues if any. It only costs like $30 bucks and most shops will do it!

Take it for a run and see how it runs. For $2500 thats not bad. You should here most things like Ball Joints going over bumps.
