Thinking about buying a used Durrango

I agree. Just telling him how his post matches the loser's post.
He misunderstood thinking I said he posted crap. He didn't. The rest of the formatting of his post however matches the trolls MO.
The quicker the troll is gone, the better for the community, old and new thread participants.

A couple of weeks ago I might in a heat of battle said the D could be crap and be prone major cooling system problems. I am in a different mindset now and chalking up to an isolated incident. Read the Virginia-Minneapolis Bound thread for details. To be on more of a positive note now, I have a new waterpump, fan clutch, thermostat, radiator, and cap thanks to PEP-BOYS lack of knowledge and wild a** guesses but thats another story.
Couple of areas to pay attention to
1. CV Drive Axles, make sure of the installation. The clamps for the outer boots, were set in a position to rub against the boot during full travel, causing premature wear. If it is there is not much you can do, if the boot is not torn then continue just when the boot does tear and grease leaks out, note position during installation and make sure it doesnt catch. The specific problem is the tip of the clamp when the clamp gets pressed together. My mechanic (NOT PEPBOYS!!) repositioned the new axle in a way to avoid the clamp rubbing against the boot. Note the short time span between replacement
JUL08-SEP09, this is the reason.
Other fairly major items note some are normal wear items and some are just bad luck.
Purchased DEC06
JAN 07 Tires/alignmnent Michelin X-RAD (X4)
MAR07 Brake Rotors/Pads (X4)
MAR07 GoodYear GATORBACK Serpentine Belt (X1)
AUG07 Blower Motor Resistor
JAN08 Transmission (NOTE: USE GASKET OR RTV BUT NOT BOTH)
JUL08 BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR/PAX SIDE CV DRIVE AXLE
AUG08 4 wheel alignment (PA ROADS)
OCT08 Blower motor Resistor (This time I noticed the wiring short and no issues after
r/r the resistor and harness
JAN09 Rear Pinion Seal
APR09 Waterpump/Thermostat/upper and lower radiator hoses, coolant
flush/Serpentine Belt
JUL09 Rear Brake Pads
SEP09 Transmission fluid/filter/Front Brake pads/rotors/PAX SIDE CV AXLE/HUB
BEARING ASSMBLY
OCT09 4 Wheel Alignment Outer Tie Rod End/PAX SideWATERPUMP/THERMOSTAT/FAN
CLUTCH/RADIATOR/radiator cap.
Other items are minor or normal maintenance like oil changes tire rotations etc...
Hope this Helps.
