I have found that I can put it up in neutral and coast to a stop and the motor settles down. When I put it back in drive it starts off normally. When I go from park to drive it acts normal also.

Sounds like a torque convertor lock up solenoid.
I'm not sure as to what sensor is but I think it's a line pressure sensor and that would describe your issues. I'd say replace it and ensure a good connection.
