4.7 engine interchange
Accept the 16 pin and 32 pin connection. Other than that, the motors are the same.
They mean you are running what is reffered to as a JTEC computer in those years. The only real difference between any 4.7 is the tone wheels. And I won't agree with you being able to take an '03 Durango motor and plug and play into a '00. '03 was the year of the change to the NGC computer, which utilizes a 32 tooth tone ring. You, on the other hand, are using a 16 tooth tone ring. Easiest way to tell if you are JTEC or NGC is to look at the computer, if it has 3 plugs on it you are JTEC, if it has 4 you are NGC.
HOWEVER, you can swap tone rings. It is a little bit of a PITA but it is possible. I am taking an '03 Durango motor and putting it into my '01 Dakota Quad Cab right now.

Here is a link to the thread that I posted about some of my work, and there is a link there to my flickr albums showing the two engines.
If you can find it, a 4.7 from some early Jeeps are HO (High Output) and JTEC controlled, it would not only swap in without switching rings, but it would also be HO.

I cannot vouge for its accuracy, but it looks to be a good resource.

Double check the computer though when you see one.
