Default Drivers side seatbelt mechanism getting wet

I have a problem, that when it rains heavily, the drivers side seatbelt
gets saturated while its retracted on the mechanism. I've pulled the
upper B-pillar trim and watched for leaks and it might be coming in
from the area above the rear drivers door, but not the seal.
There is a reinforcement channel that appears to run above the door
and its traveling along that area. I'd have to pull the roof liner piece to
follow it back further to the source.

Could this be from a leak in the roof rack channel or someplace else.
I've searched and googled and not found this question answered anywhere.

My 2nd problem was answered in the faqs +1 for the seat element fix!

Thanks!

I can stop off at the junk yard today and have a look at one I know of.

Wow, that would be awesome if you could.
Thanks!

I'm probably going to try and hit the local pick-n-pull on friday or saturday and
have a look as well.

I always take my camera so i'll update this with photos if i find anything.

Stopped and saw a couple of different years and setups. What year is yours? Do you have A/C with heat control?

Its a 2001. It does have A/C with the rear heat controls.

I think i found something in a 1999
model at the junkyard. The rails that the luggage racks slide on are secured
through the roof with Torx bolts, well on the inside of the roof i noticed the
nuts that secure them seem to have a whitish corrosion on them that would
indicate moisture. Its possible that i've got one thats seeping. It doesn't look
(atleast from the inside) that there is much in the way of sealant that would
waterproof these fasten points.

I didn't bring the right size torx bit to dig in further but i'll be taking a look at
mine today. Its supposed to be dry but cold.

Thanks

try pulling the bolts out of the rack and coat them in RTV then replace them.

+1 Green!

The only thing there is that Torx bolt. You could take it off and seal all around it and reinstall.

You could also try to use black sealant and place a small bead all the way down the channels front to back and also the Torx if need be.
