Default other options for 16 inch rims

hey

just wanna ask before I buy

I have 16 inch rims on my 2002 4.7 D

currently have 265/75/16 installed

what would be a smaller size for the 16 inch rim

245/75/16 or 255/70/16 or ???

looking to go a bit smaller less tire to push and price quite a bit less in canada for the smaller tires

thanks

The 70 series tires would be slightly shorter in terms of height but will have a wider footprint (255) when compared to the taller 75 series and narrower 245 tire.

If you are looking for better handling, the 255/70 would be the way to go.

If you are looking for softer confort ride, go with the 245/75.

I have 245/70/16 Destination AT tires on mine. I like the way they look, but next time I believe I will get the 265's.

With a tire size change other than stock remember that your speedo will not be accurate without a programmer.
