Default stock suspension,rims, and tires

on the 4x4 durango with the stock 16 inch rims. what is the widest tire i can get? because if i increase the height it might rub and throw off my speedometer so i was wondering in width how fat i can get those suckers. it's almost time to replace my good year forteras for some all- terrains.

thanks

I cant tell you what the largest tire size is that will fit off hand, but I increased the tire size on mine to 265/75/16 's.

do you guys know the specs of the stock rims on the 2001 durango? are they 16 " in diameter and 10.5 " wide?

that means your truck came from the factory with 15x8 (i think) rims and 235/75/15 tires, the differnt tire size means that someone changed the tires and put the wrong (bigger, not always a bady thing) size tire on it, your speedometer is probably off at this poinunless the P/O had it calibrated to the new tire size

ive had the durango from the start all the way back to 2001 brand new 17 miles off the line. no one changed the rims. but the tires fit perfectly fine on the rims . the tires say dont mount on anything but 16 inch rims since thats what it was made for. idk lol. on tire rack if you look for o.em wheels they have a 265/70/16 option. so im guessing thats a wheel option my parents got when they first bought the car.

last thing what are you guys pumping your tires to? what psi? on the door it says front cold 35 psi and rear 41 psi. is this correct? my tires max psi is 44.
