Default 2000 durango heater problem

My heater doesn't get hot or even warm. The truck gets up to temperature and the defroster works just fine.
When I switch over to the vents, it blows out cool air. Any ideas?

Try flushing out your heater core. Take an old garden hose and cut one end off of it. Hook up the hose and plug the hose into a the heater core and run the water through one direction. After it starts coming out clean place the hose on the other end and repeat. Keep doing this 3-4 times and your heater should work much better. You may also end up with a leaky heater core since it clears corrosion and deposits out.

Exclamation Heater

i have a 2000 Dodge Durango. When ever we turn on the heater to the car, the steam from the heater goes directly into the interior of the car. We live in Nevada and we really need the heater right now. Please help.

Steam? There isn't supposed to be steam. Maybe you have a heater core leaking.
