Default what causes a weak engine start?

my 4.7l engine usually always starts really strong with no problems! one healthy S.O.B. but sometimes it will start kind of weak. the engine will turn on but it will stumble slowly like its about to stall but then it picks up and everything is fine. would this be the cause of old spark plugs? im changing them next week anyways but im wondering if that could be the problem. the plugs probably have about 30k on them :/. what other things might cause a weak start? and sometimes when i drive around and turn off the engine to go to the store or something and i come back and turn the key, the engine will start up strong in like less then a second of cranking. whats up with that? is it just cause the engines hot so it starts up quick? It's like right when you hear the sound of the electric motor, a fraction of a second after turning the key the engine starts lol. thanks.

sorry for grammer etc. im on my phone :/

1. Replace spark plugs with Champion Copper or Champion Truck plugs.

2. As for the quick start. You truck still has oil residue on the cylinder walls and a warm cylinder so starting when warm is a breeze.

Ironically, I was logging on to start a thread about the same problem. How hard of a job is swapping spark plugs?

Yeah I've got the 5.9. I'm thinking about replacing the spark plugs and MAYBE the fuel injectors over Christmas break. Anybody done either of these?

Don't do the injectors unless you need to.
