Default On/Off Road All Terrain

Hey Guys,

I need some advice. I have a 2000 Durango 4.7 with 86,000 miles, the NV241 part time transfer case. Most importantly, Our rig has the off road 31X10.5X15 off road tire option. Currently we have Wild Country Radial XTX tires and I do not know the mileage. That is not important. Needless to say, they are crap. My completely stock 4.7 spins its tires at about 3/4 throttle in the rain. This is a very frequent issue because I live in Portland, Oregon rain capital of the Country. I have convinced my dad to get new tires within a year and I am going back and forth on which ones we should buy. Here is what our Durango is used for:

1) I take it to school and back which is about 15 miles each way.
2) Being able to haul a small trailer every now and then.
3) Trips to mount hood. We have chains for the rear only.
4) Starting to take it off roading with a friend.

I had my mind set on the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO's which i Noticed Hydrashocker has on his Durango.

I am kinda torn between the BFG's and The Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2's.

All input is welcome. Feel free to ask questions.

THANK YOU!

Default I vote KOs

I have the KOs on my 3500 CTD Ram and they are GREAT. They have good road manners on wet or dry roads and are really good if we have to take it into a wet muddy field. They look great too - I like the square shoulder. I have heard good things about the Revos but have never used them. But I am on my second pair of KOs and have nothing but good things to say about them. So I say KOs and don't look back.

Those fixed my issue! They are the #1 rated tire for A/T in every place I've seen.

BFG TA KO will work, dont expect perfect though... It may be timeworthly to toss a few extra #'s in the rear for the winter (when on chains) for the extra weight. I ran everything from sticky to soft to hard rubb and at the end i just had to relax my foot on the skinny pedal. If i lay into it around 30mph my rear just loves to wander with mtr's.

The perfect 31X10.5X15 for the Durango is the Michelin LTX M/S

Perfect. Rotate every 10k and you will get 90k out of them. Worth TWO sets of any other tire. Should be $650 or so out the door in 2009. Tire prices go up in 2010.

I seen those down at Firestone (I think) and they look great and they said an average of 50k mileage not to mention they looked meaty but practical. The cost however looks hi in comparing the BFG AT KO series at about the same price with a proven track record and a # 1 rating in MANY applications.

However, I really like em but not for the price.
