Default Parrott hands free kit - no sound out of speakers

I got a new Parrott hands free kit for Christmas. We decided not to buy the optional harness for $50 and just hard wired the controls in. The Parrott is working fine, but there is no sound coming out of any of the speakers. We can hook a set of headphones in before and after the parrott control box and can hear the music there - but for some reason the sound is not coming out of the speakers. It's a 2000 Dodge Durango with the factory stereo and speakers. Any ideas?

Does the radio need to be on for the speakers to work? Is there a switch for when making and receiving calls and listening to the radio?

Default no sound

I'm pretty sure the radio has to be on. The problem is - it's on and the sound is being sent to the speakers but nothing is coming thru.

my first thing to check would be all the wiring if you are sure that the system is working correctly make sure that the wires are correctly hooked up and ntohing came apart or shorted as you put tthe system back into the dash

turns out it was the power amp trigger wire that wasn't hooked up. We don't have an after market amp so we didn't think it was needed - but it was.
