i have a 98 durango with the 5.2 and the front diff breather hose is leaking oil out and it is dripping all over the place. i cant figure out why it is leaking out. i checked the fluid level and it is fine and i took the hose off and it is clean and you can blow right through it. any thoughts?

Hows the cap look on the end?
Think you have water inside ?
water sinks and raises the lube when heated, sadly the only way to tell is to pop the diff open or suction the lower half.

i think its time to change the fluid in that diff, especially if it hasnt been done recently, its the best way to see if something is wrong inside, and new clean fluid NEVER hurt anything
i just bought this durango a month ago and changed all of the fluids in it because god only knows when the last time it was done. i checked the fluid in the front diff and it is still a honey color no milky white so there is no water in it. but the cap on the end of the hose does seem fine. thats why i am stumped. i had this happen on my other truck and it was because of water.(lots of driving through creeks and off roading.) but i noticed that it only does it after i have had it in 4 wheel for a while.
Sounds like foaming of the lubricant.
Make sure you use 90W-80 Hypoid gear lubricant. Also you can use 75W-90 Fully Synthetic Hypoid gear lubricant (I like Mobil 1). Make sure your truck is on flat ground and fill it up tell the lubricant runs out of the fill hole. Let the overage leak out as you only what the level to the lowest edge of the fill hole and not over. Then install the rubber cap.
