Default Idler pulley arm

The spring in the idler pulley arm on my 98 durango has went bad. will not hold the belt fully tight. This of course causes the alternator not to charge right and the water pump not turning fast enuf. I have looked at most auto parts stores and they have just the pulley. Am I going to have to go to a junk yard or a dodge dealr for this item?

its called the "belt tensioner assy". available at AZ for about $60. its probably the same as the one on my truck. its the pulley, arm, spring, etc. pretty easy to change. (at least it is on the truck).

this is for the 01 ram. your's might be different.

There is an Idler Pulley and also a Tensioner Belt Assembly on these engines as dhvaughan is suggesting. The part that the user needs is the Tensioner Belt Assembly and any parts store sells them. Look around for pricing. www.rockauto.com is a good place as well as others.
