Default Performance chip

I have a 2000 Durango SLT. I can I tell if it has a performance chip or the stock? The MPGs are horrible but the performance is great.

City driving? New car heavy on the skinny pedal? Used with miles?
Prob could use a tune up...

It's used. 79k miles. Mostly city driving. There was a little highway driving. Do you guys think a tune up is in order with 79000mi. I did change the oil to synthetic and put a new air filter in.

4.7l and great performance? Hummm.... LOL (j/k)

New plugs and go on. Winter blend on fuel sucks gas milage down. Your 12 to 13 is about 2MPG lower than norm anyways on your setup. City driving doesn't help.

hmm i get 13-15 in the winter, (with almost the same set up as you, but i got an xtra 10k miles on ya) and 17-20 in the summer with the good gas, so defintely do a tune up, new plugs and air filter, check air pressure in the tires make sure it tracks straight (if its out of alignment and you have to fight it to go straight that sucks up gas believe it or not)

I'm still runnin average 13.5 city and 15.5 hwy.......Laughin with a 5.9L here.

Do a tune up. TO answer your question, chips are no good. The better way to go is a tuner.
