I finally addressed this after almost two years. All of the contact points seemed fine, but I did get the driver side working just by twisting them around a little. So I figured it may be the problem. After trying several times, I notice that one of the contact points sat a little lower, sort of submerged lower than the point next to it. I folded a small piece of aluminum foil and it worked! Thanks so much for those here that took the time to respond!
