Default brake lights wont brighten

hi i'm new here i have a 2002 dodge durango r/t and the brake lights won't brighten when pressed the bulbs are not burnt out because the daylight running lights are working also the third (top) brake lights up when pressed.thanks for any help

sounds to me like the brake light filament in the bulbs is burnt out, either that or a fuse,

btw the bulbs have multiple filaments in them so one can burn out without the other ones going, try new bulbs, its a cheap thing to try

I have the exact same problem...cant seem to find bad fuse, replaced bulbs...Any resolution?

Another thing...if you take the socket out there is the silver pins or basically the grounds on the both socket and bulb housing. Look to see that one of those ends isnt melting into the housing or socket. If it is just take it out with a thin knife or scraper.

+1. I fixed mine by laying a little piece of old wire on the contact point. Just to help make sure everything touches. A dab of solder might work too.

Same here. Became a headache since i got all new bulbs then bought a socket and i was ready to get a new housing then someone told me about those contact points and there it was...burning into my housing. Just popped it out and it fixed my problem.

I would also check your ground circuit too, as well as what the other members recommend.
