Default Fluids

I love starting new threads

So anyway, In my TA I allways used royal purple engine oil and a quart of the lucas oil additive, used RP tranny fluid and diff fluids. And every tank added 3oz of lucas fuel stuff.

Now in this R/T of mine its got about 80k on it. I just started running lucas in the fuel tank. Whats the experience with the rest.

I know its a bit high to switch to synthetic but I think Ill do that anyways cause if anything leaks I got a three year warranty.

Keep in mind I'm in FL so how does 10w30 royal purple lucas additive, with Full ATF royal purple.. Also what about the front and rear diffs gonna get them serviced but gonna throw some royal in there also but what grade. Also may switch to Redline engine coolant.

royal purple is fine, any full synthetic is great for these trucks, but skip the additives, they dont to anything except waste your money, in any situation sorry.

and the only thing for the transmission is to make sure it is ATF+4 or you willk ill the trans

I call your bluff on additives. Risilone was a fantastic tool to cheaply quiet lifters when I was in the wrench turning business. But good to know about the ATF + 4

Lucas oil additive has been shown to cause frothing which can lead to bearing failure. I wouldnt put any of that crap in a motor, I hope you didnt abuse a LS1 TA with that garbage.

no bluff, its well known on this and other boards that i am on that additives are the equivalent of snake oil . . .no government regulation, they can put whatever they want in them and make whatever claims they want about it, and some of them actually do much more harm than one would think(no i cant think of any specific examples right now)

Hey shrpshtr I guess that silver can of "engine restorer" that I've been putting in all my oil changes for as long as I can remember is not a good idea? Lol, wonderful. I hate that man.

You obviously have no idea what your talking about when it comes to additives and molecular oil compounds.

Go to Royal's web site an get the main oil base used and come back with the info?

its a VERY bad idea . . . the only one i have found to not do harm is the stop leak, and id only use that if i had to inorder to pass state inspection
