timing chain in mine was bad, caused it not to run.

at any rate my response was to make sure the op's friend, had checked the basic mechanical condition of the engine before wasting money chasing electronics that may not be able to function properly as a result.

^ This is very true ^


To check timing you can bring the #1 cylinder to TDC and check under the cap to ensure that the rotor is pointing close to #1 wire.

Default 1998 durango running problems

hey guys, it's been a while for any post from me, he just started to work on it again,it has improved but not fixed yet, idles cold now, when it warms up wants t stale. we have replaced, fuel pump, pick up coil, coil sensor, since last post any more help?

Hey guys he has put map sensor on now showing misfire code pending he finally listened and did a compression test
2-150. 4-120. 6-0psi. 8-150. 1-120. 3-130. 5-120 7-120psi
What do u think?

your #6 cylinder is acting up(duh) ill let hydra (the closet we have to an engine expert) chime in on why its not holding compression

All the compressions look good except for #6 and having a 0 psi. With having a 0 psi and the others in the target range I defiantly think you did the test correctly but I think you busted a piston or completely lost the rings. I'm afraid you are looking at a rebuild. Now if you had "something" we could do other tricks but with 0 psi your at a complete loss.
