rock sliders, as in skid plates? I have the factory ones on the trans and transfer case, and gas tank from the factory.

no rock sliders are usually bolted to the frame and cover the area between rear and front tires... here's a pic of rock sliders on a cherokee... same general idea

Not a fan on maybe a dozen levels. Here's 10:

Viper for offroad?
Front bumper gone
Wheels stick out way to far
Mega cut to the rear cover
A tractor steering ****?
Nothing done to interior, body, lights.
Check out the tiny front calipers compared to the mass that is expecting them to stop.
Suspension for the size needs some work.
A '99 for your base model
+1 A pickup? really?

New Durango

2003 SLT 4.7L - Full Load w/ DVD - 108K KM

Want to give it a T/S lift, some new BFG A/T's and upgrade the lights all around. Ive already ordered clear corners, HID's, Switchback LED's & resistors, and LED tails.

MAdchild, idk if you're a fan but with the color of your new D i think the chrome rock panel decal/trim or whatever would look nice. You know the strips that run across the bottom in chrome that say dodge/durango or something? that would look nice i think lol

One of the best offroading vehicles as a supercharged motor in it, the Bowler Nemesis -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowler_Nemesis , so for an endurance offroad rally race, a high HP motor can make sense.
