I don't know for sure, I'm just going off what I've read, but I think the entire nv4500 is too tall... especially up by the top of the bellhousing at the very front of the transmission tunnel.

A t56 would fit! That would be sick too!!!! I'm going to put one in my 2wd dakota one day (see my avatar picture). Check this out for more info... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2177780

But yeah, there are no linkages. Just the hydraulic system. Its not like a front wheel drive manual transmission where there are shift linkages going from the stick to the transmission... the stick on a RWD transmission goes right into the transmission.

Yeah, a T56 would be great. I don't want to drop that kind of cash, though.
Wonderful. I was checking 1st gear ratios for this reply, thinking that the 4500 had about a 3.50 1st. I'd be loving that, compared to the (about) 2.50 in my auto trans. Well, I was wrong. SECOND gear is 3.04. 1st is a granny gear. Anywhere from 6.xx to 5.01, depending on the year. 3rd 1.67. 4th 1 to 1. 5th .73. Talk about a wide ratio transmission. Sheesh......... At least it has a decent torque rating. 425 or 450 lb-ft.
Still, if it could fit somehow, that 1st gear could make it easy for my wife to get it going in an emergency, (She can't drive a stick. Yet.) and the wide ratio would work REALLY well with a correctly sized turbo................. I won't be able to make any real power for quite a while yet, but it's an interesting thought.
