Brake the large wheel bearing nut/s loose BEFORE you jack up the truck and make sure you have a good sized cheater bar handy to do it.

You have to remove the wheel, brakes, hub (main and three bolts on back to knuckle), Also it you pull the tie rod end you can crank it over enough that you can pop out the CV from the knuckle without any more disassembling. When installing the new CV Halfshaft make sure they POP in to the axle housing.

Now if you are talking about the drive line from the transfer case to the differential then simply put it in 4WD to lock the axle and disconnect, replace the U-joints, then reassemble remembering to take it out of 4X4.

Yes, this is what I have to do and thank for the info to lock the axle. I'll be going with Precision for the u-joints since they offer a lifetime warranty from Rockauto which has the best price. They have something called super strength greaseable u-joint, which will be the one; PRECISION Part # 280 {U Joint - Greaseable Super-Strength}
4WD; Position: Front Shaft at Front Axle
4WD; Double Cardan Joint; Position: Front Shaft at Transfer Case
$13.39 ea. They also offer Acdelco which doesn't come with a lifetime warranty.

The U-joints arrived, Precision greaseable u-joints part# 280 and I got them from Summit for $12.88. I'm waiting for a replacement on one, due to it having (3) caps with holes to inject the grease instead of one. I removed the drive shaft and installed the other two without any problems. The weather and waiting for the replacement u-joint is keeping me from finishing the job.

Remember to put the grease Zerk in a place when you install them you can grease them and not be pinched off.

I used the 280, which have the fitting screwed into the cap. The 369 has the fitting screwed into the body of the u joint. The fitting for the 280 has a flat head, which makes it level with the yoke so there's no chance of it breaking off.

Replaced the drive shaft and some leaking transmission lines. Everything looks good and the test drive went well. NO pics, I'm over my quota. This is the only forum that this has happened to me and I have way more pics posted on other forums.
