Default Rear Differential parts

Would anyone know where I could find parts for a 9.25 trac lock rear end? I am looking for the pinion pin and retaining bolt. Any help would be great.

Thanks,

A junkyard would be your best bet. I'm 99% sure you can subsitute a pin from an open differential.

I tried an open diff. pin but it is longer and larger in diameter. Would a junkyard let me tear apart a rearend just for a few parts?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure my open carrier pin fit in my trac lok when I was replacing the clutches. But whatever.

If there is a U-Pull-It junkyard (like LKQ self serve) near you, yes, they will let you do anything you want.

**EDIT**

Yes it did fit... I remembered right. I used both pins to hold the thrust washers in place when I was putting it back together.

Not to be a bother, but would you happen to have the diameter of one of the cross shafts? I am trying to figure out which of mine is the oddball. The open cross shaft I have measures .866 in dia. and the Trac-loc measures .717 in dia. Do I have an oddball Trac-Loc? I am thinking I might not be able to find parts if mine is an oddball.

Thanks,

My open crosshaft is .863 inches. I can get the measurement off the trac lok, but I'll have to go out and get the pin loose.

The trac lok is .874 inches... less than 1/64 of an inch different than my open.

Are you sure yours is a trac lok and not an aftermarket LSD? The trac lok says trac lok on the side of the carrier.

Thanks for the diameters and the suggestion. I checked the carrier it has Trac Lok and what looks like a @ after the k. The axle tube sticker says it is a Trac Lock. Is the Trac Lock different than the Trac Lok on the carrier.

I saw some pictures you had posted on one of your other threads on rebuilding a carrier, on the side of the carrier it shows Trac Lok all in one indented segment, mine has the two words separated, Trac in on segment and Lok in a separate indented segment about 30 degrees rotated.

I think I have a Trac Lok, maybe a different version?

Thanks again for your help.

It's still a Chrysler 9.25 Trac-Lok axle housing and same carrier.

OK Thanks,

I must have a oddball carrier, because the pin and lock bolt are different than a open carrier and from earlier notes, different than the regular Trac-Lok. or at least the pin area. I also checked the spline diameter on the axle and it is different than the open carrier also.

Thanks again for the help, it is a good sanity check.
