I have a 2001 Durango with the 4.7L. Motor is shot so I've been looking to change it out. Can not find a 4.7L but i found a 2003 with the 5.9L for sale. I know i will need the engine harness. Is that all I need? Not sure about the tranny. Thanks

 

No. Stay with a like motor swap. 4.7s are available. Otherwise you will swap the transmission, PCM, wiring, everything. Don't.

yea if you change to a 5.9 you need a new engine, trans, computer, wiring harness, maybe even t-case and driveshafts, not worth the hassle just get another 4.7
