That would be my guess. Cause the height affects the circumfirence of the tire.

Case in point my factory tire size. 275/60/17
275= tread width
60= this is sidewall height, 60% of tread width
17= Diameter of wheel

if the 275 is the height and 75 is the width... then why is it a 40series tire looks like a rubber band on a rim and a 75 looks like a swamper.. and a 205 looks like a bicycle tire and a 325 looks like a drag slick?? just 2 cents

Wow! This went in a funny direction. I hope everyone understands there metric tire sizes now LOL.

Anyway, I got the tuner from Facory hooked it up and as it was reading, my guages went dead and my odometer started blinking just like it did when my computer junked on me, but all was good after it finished programming and holy flaming crap on a stick!!!! I got a very nice boost in the pedal as well now when I say HAH mule it really is like I'm hitting her with a stick !!!!

Thank you Hydra for the suggestion and fix on the speedo, by the way hows that new truck treating you??

Anyway, Thinkin about doing a B&G flash for my PCM (concitering nobody makes a tuner for me) but first I think I'm savin up for a gearing swap to 4.10 from 3.55 for starters.

When I change tire sizes on my lifted Jeep, all I have to do to correct the speedo was change the little speedo gear in the transmission tail under the Jeep. At the most it's an "un-messy" 20 minute job ... if you're slow. The tooth count on the speedo determines which one you need for the specific tire size. Is it possible to do this with the Durango as well?

Coincidentally the speedo gear I got off ebay was listed as a Dodge gear and it was identical to mine. Fit perfectly.

Dodge gear is the green one. Size differes due to tooth count. Orange is Jeep stock.

Speedo is controlled at the rear diff by an exciter ring on the carrier and a pick up sensor on the Ram, Durango, and Dakota. The only way would be to program the PCM or *possible exciter ring tooth swap* (just looking into that so unsure).
