Default '01 Durango horn and fan problems

My horn doesn't work from the steering wheel but it works from the remote key lock...Anyone know whats up and how to fix it without breaking my bank? The fan for the AC/heater is also out....My husband replaced something under the dash on the passenger side thinking that was the problem but it didnt fix the issue...Any help is great, THANKS

well the horn not working is most likely the clock spring, its what carries all the wires from the steering wheel, i would not attempt that myself, either go to a shop or the dealer. and for the fan, check to see if the plug on the resistor is melted (it sounds like the resistor was already replaced) if not your fan might be bad, you can check it by jumping the live and ground wires to a live power source, and then you might have to tear into the dash to replace the hvac fan
