Hey everyone, I recently changed out my trans fluid and filter and now when it warms up it frequently gets stuck in first. whats the problem? do i need a new trans? 2001 4.7l

 

Did you have this problem before you replace the fluid? If you didn't have a problem before, then i would recheck the filter. The seal for the filter going into the pump may not be installed all the way into the pump,which mean you maybe sucking air and not transmission fluid.Now if you had the problem before, then you need to pull some DTC codes out of the transmission controller and post.

 

No it started happening right after I changed the fluid and filter. I will check to make sure it is sealed correctly. thanks

 

I've seen this happen as well.
